To Benefit the MDEMSP Program and the Maranda M. Callender Scholarship Fund.

Maranda Callender was a smart, bright, spirited teen who loved being with family and friends.
On November 2, 2004 during an argument with her then boyfriend she was shot, point blank in the face, above her left eye. Even though the bullet could not be removed, she went on for the next 18 months trying to live a normal life; knowing any sudden movement could be fatal.
She wanted to become an Emergency Provider and Nurse, because she admired those who helped her during her 18 days in shock trauma. She was well on her way, as she went on to complete high school and received her final report card as a honor roll student.
She went to the senior prom with her new boyfriend and went to Ocean City for the weekend. However, days later she complained of cold like symptoms and within two days slipped into a coma, due to an infection caused by the bullet. Meningitis set in and she passed on June 2, 2008.
As a family we want Maranda's fight for life and death not to go unnoticed. Domestic violence does not know age, race, or religion. Please help in our mission. We (Maranda's family) want to thank everyone for your support. click here for more information about the event
